DenverWorks' target population is low-income jobseekers with barriers to employment. Those barriers to employment may include a criminal background; substance abuse; dependency on government assistance; a disability; or lack of child care, transportation, language proficiency, or self-confidence. Our goal is to help our clients identify, own, and overcome their barriers to employment.
In 2011, enrolled clients who reported ethnicity were:
♦ 38.4% White (non-Hispanic); 28.8% Hispanic; 17.2% Other or Undisclosed; 15.4% African-American; and .2% Asian
Our clients are typically at least 17 years of age and out of school.
