| DenverWorks Partners with Women's Bean Project On January 18, Employment Ready Program Director Anna Aragon led a job readiness workshop for 22 women at Women's Bean Project. In the weeks following the workshop, each woman met with Anna individually for employment counseling and referrals, and visited DenverWorks' clothing closet for interview and work attire. By the end of January, five women were already scheduled for job interviews!

DenverWorks Announces New Acting Executive Director
The Board of DenverWorks is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenifer Reynolds as acting Executive Director effective January 1, 2012. Jenifer has over ten years of management experience and has worked as Director of the 2nd Chance Program at DenverWorks since 2008, providing employment assistance to the prisoner reentry population. Prior to joining DenverWorks, Jenifer served as case manager and project coordinator for The Community Reentry Project in Denver and as Homeless Shelter Coordinator for the University of Denver Center for Community Engagement & Service Learning. She also worked as a drug and alcohol case manager in Seattle, Washington. Jenifer is a graduate of The Institute of Prison Ministries credential program at Wheaton College with an emphasis on reentry leadership and restorative justice practices. She holds an associate’s degree in social human services from Seattle Central Community College.
The DenverWorks Board is very pleased to welcome Jenifer as the organization’s Executive Director. Jenifer has demonstrated her commitment and gifts as an experienced manager and leader, with a rich history of working with low income, at-risk, homeless, and other disadvantaged populations. Her passion for serving others, as well as her extensive background in strategic planning and community networking, make her an ideal choice for DenverWorks and its clients.

DenverWorks Hosts Job Fair 500 job seekers lined up around the block to participate in the Bridges to Employment job fair hosted by DenverWorks on October 11. Bridges to Employment is a collaborative of 30 agencies who prepare and place individuals in jobs. Robert Herrera, Federal Express recruiter, noted: I appreciate the way the community joined together to assist job seekers and employers. This is one of the best job fairs we have ever participated in. Employers included: ADT, Brickman Group, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, DPS Transportation, DPS Food, Federal Express, Home Depot, Home Watch, Hyatt DTC, LGC, Mile High Youth Corp, ResCare, Securitas, and Wind Crest. Thanks to all who made this great event happen!
