Clothing Closet Associate Purpose: The Women@Work and Men@Work clothing closets provide gently-used business and casual work attire for jobseekers and those recently employed. The closets support DenverWorks’ mission to empower people to fulfill their God-given design through preparation for employment. We serve our own clients as well as jobseekers from approved community agencies that refer their clients to us. The individuals using the closet usually have barriers to employment and very limited resources. One of our volunteers shares, The closets are not just about clothing; they are the vehicle we use to show our care for the clients. They are about making a difference in people’s lives.
Duties: • Assist clients with choosing appropriate work outfits • Provide exceptional customer service to clients • Complete referral forms for clients • Maintain clean and professional atmosphere within closet • If time permits, sort clothing by size, style, and season
Qualifications:
• Dedicated to the mission of DenverWorks and the clothing closets • Compassion, patience, and sensitivity to the clients we serve • Knowledgeable about appropriate business attire

Time Commitment: Women@Work Clothing Closet – Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Men@Work Clothing Closet – Tuesdays from 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Associates are asked to commit to one shift per month for at least six months.
Training: Volunteers are given a personal orientation to DenverWorks and the clothing closets. On-the-job training is provided as well as an annual clothing closet training for all volunteers.

| Duties:
• Receive clothing donations from individuals, businesses, and churches
• Determine if prospective clothing is appropriate for the closet
• Assist with transporting clothing into the closet and give donation receipt to donor
• Sort clothing by size, style, and season; place in appropriate closet area
• Steam clothing and polish shoes and jewelry
• Maintain clean and professional atmosphere within closet
• Act as a DenverWorks representative; offer to conduct tours of the closets and answer questions about DenverWorks
